Our Mission

The Office of Violence Prevention promotes awareness to the realities of dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and other forms of interpersonal violence. The office serves as the nerve center for violence prevention education at Ramapo College and works closely with students, faculty, staff and community partners who share Ramapo's commitment to the eradication of gender-based violence. Our programs provide evidence-based literacy and training through innovative prevention strategies in an effort to create a community that fosters a culture of respect, affirmative consent and encourages bystander intervention.

VIP Program

The Violence Intervention Peers are the Office of Violence Preventions student lead volunteer program.

This peer to peer volunteer group creates interactive, fun, and engaging events and programs to educate Ramapo's student body on the importance of Violence Prevention on the basis of sexual violence, sexual assault, stalking, and any other form of interpersonal violence. Our VIPs (Violence Intervention Peers) also display the importance of bystander intervention and healthy relationships. To get more information on event programming or how to apply to this program, email ovp@ramapo.edu.
