The Black American Music Club and Women’s Center & LGBTQ+ Services present The Blueprint — an evening inspired by our favorite Black women musicians — featuring live music, Zines and Za (fanzine-making and pizza), and a Rainbow Femme Radio listening party. Make a mini fanzine dedicated to your favorite Black women musician/s! Enjoy vocal performances by Ramapo students Hadassah Fairman and Faith Duncan, accompanied by guitarist Shea Booth. This celebration of Black History Month, Black Women’s History Week, and Women’s Herstory Month honors the Black women artists who have shaped the blueprint for innovation, storytelling, and activism in music, creating the sounds, styles, and movements that influence generations.
What's a zine? Short for magazine or fanzine, a zine is a small-circulation independently published work of original and/or appropriated text and images. Zines are made for the love of creating, rather than profit, and may be produced by one person or collaboratively. They are often reproduced using photocopiers and circulated as physical publications, though many are also created and shared digitally.
