About Us
Pi Mu Epsilon - Mission Statement:
Pi Mu Epsilon (PME) is the national mathematics honor society. Founded on May 25, 1914 at Syracuse University, PME currently has over 300 chapters at colleges and universities throughout the United States. The purpose of the Society is to promote scholarly activity in mathematics among students in academic institutions.

To become a member of this honor society (i.e. to be inducted):
Contact Dr. Kowal in early December. A mass email reminder will be sent to all math majors and math minors.
Eligibility:
To qualify, the student must satisfy all of the following by June 30th of the academic year prior to the induction year:
1) The student completed at least two calculus courses (or at least two courses above calculus).
2) The student completed at least two additional mathematics courses at or above calculus that lead to the fulfillment of the requirements in the mathematics major.
3) The student has an overall GPA of at least 3.0 on the 4.0 scale.
4) The student has a GPA of 3.0 on the 4.0 scale in the mathematics courses taken so far that lead to the fulfillment of the requirements of a major in mathematics.
5) If a student has courses that were transferred from other institutions, at least two of the four required courses mentioned between items (1.) and (2.) above must be completed at Ramapo College.
If needed, a discount may be offered on the membership fee for international students and EOF students.
A student who was inducted as an undergraduate to this honor society may also be inducted as a graduate student.
